The
Harmonic and Inverse Harmonic Series
I recently read a statement by Richard Dawkins - "Without
evolution Biology is a collection of miscellaneous facts...How
can you possibly teach biology unless you begin
with evolution." That makes a lot of sense (even
to a 'non-Biologist' such as myself!).
But in the same way I suspect there is an even more
fundamental cornerstone of organisation that lies at
the heart of why things are the way they are...
The issue is - how are things related, and - if you
accept my aim 'to be musical' - how can we adjust their
relation to make them more musical?
So - to re-phrase Dawkins...Without the Harmonic
and inverse harmonic series music is a collection
of miscellaneous sounds...how can you possibly teach
music unless you begin with the Harmonic and inverse
harmonic series?
