| The most important news is that I've formed a group to perform my music. It's early days but we rehearse regularly and things are looking good. The current members are Tony Maloney (percussion), Phil Scragg (Bass), Steve Uren (keyboard samples and sound design) and of course myself. I hope to add a guitarist and 3 singers in the near future, and guest players for individual concerts.
There have been a number of other developments recently:
Firstly, I've improved the sound quality of some of the music on this site. [The piece playing on this page 'Tides & Bells' is an example.] There are also quite a few new pieces to hear - I hope you enjoy them.
Secondly, I've made some major improvements to my Studio. The most significant of these is that I now use a Yamaha U1 'silent' piano as my master keyboard. I've also added Logic to go with Pro-tools and Sibelius. This has made a fantastic difference to the musicality of the set up. I recommend it!
Thirdly, I've completed some scores of old pieces - excerpts of these can be viewed via the 'composition' page.
Finally, I've continued to do some teaching, and it would be only fair to mention my star pupil 'K' who whilst still only 8 years old has achieved high distinctions in piano grades 1 to 5, a cup from the Richmond festival, and a gold medal at the Kingston festival. He has also gained entrance to the Royal Academy Junior School and won a music scholarship to an independent school. Well done 'K'!
