Jean Michel & Massive Attack (Teardrop on the fire) (2000)

This is a re-mix of two tracks by other people: ‘Diva’ from Jean Michel-Jarre’s 1980’s album ‘Zoolook’ featuring the voice of Laurie Anderson, and ‘Teardrop’ by Massive Attack.

I had become interested in mixing by Dj’s, and the idea of putting these 2 tracks together came to me when I realised their chord sequences and tempi would blend well.

Even so it’s not something you could do live – I used it as a way of getting to know the audio editing facilities within Pro-tools. It was my first attempt and it’s still a favourite.
