Deep Waves

This track rolls along at 140 b.p.m and makes plenty of use of Roland and Nova synth sounds.

It came about as an improvisation - I more or less played the piano part of the chorus straight off.

I thought it worth developing as there was a nice poly-rhythm feel about it *

The alternating verses emphasises a more straight ahead kind of house beat.

This extract goes from the beginning chorus and fades just after the start of the 1st verse.

* groups of 3 quavers in the right hand, and the left hand moving in groups of 3 semi-breves as against the 4/4 time signature. The resulting phrase is 24 bars long - it has to run that long before they all get back in phase with one another.

Sounds intellectual but, as I say, it was instinctive.
